The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Fellow of UNESCO, ACLS, and FIIFPN, has lauded the appointment of Dr. K’tso Nghargbu as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Linkages), describing it as a decision rooted in merit, excellence, and a forward-looking vision for the university’s growth.

Professor Liman made these remarks on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Senate Chamber of the university during a thank-you visit by two prominent traditional rulers in the state, His Royal Highness, the Chun Mada, Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, and His Royal Highness, the Abaga Toni of Toni Chiefdom, Dr. Lawrence Sylvester Ayih II. The royal fathers visited the university to express their appreciation over Dr. Nghargbu’s historic appointment.

In her address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized Dr. Nghargbu’s remarkable contributions to the institution, which she said made his appointment and that of the other two DVCs both deserving and timely. She expressed gratitude to God for divine guidance in making the decision and called on the Mada nation to continue to serve as ambassadors of the university. Professor Liman also reaffirmed her full confidence in Dr. Nghargbu’s capacity to make the university proud in his new role.

Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation and paramount ruler of the Mada Nation, His Royal Highness, Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, described the visit as a token of appreciation to the university’s leadership. He praised the Vice-Chancellor for recognizing and appointing a distinguished son of the Mada Nation as the first Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Linkages at NSUK, a feat that was attained for the first time ever, by any Academic from the Mada extraction.

The Chun Mada noted that the appointment was a clear demonstration of the university’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusivity, as well as an encouragement for academic collaboration and cultural integration. He commended Professor Liman for her unwavering support for the Mada people and her consistent promotion of cultural, academic, and social engagements.

He assured the Vice-Chancellor that Dr. Nghargbu would not disappoint the university in discharging the new mandate, pledging that he would bring innovation, dedication, and integrity to his office.
The visit marked a significant moment in the deepening partnership between the university and the Mada Nation. A highlight of the occasion was the formal presentation of a letter of appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor by His Royal Highness, the Chun Mada, followed by group photographs to commemorate the event.
