Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, PhD, the newly appointed Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, has pledged to support Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) in becoming a world-class institution.
He made this commitment on Wednesday 19th March 2025, when he received a congratulatory visit from the University’s management at his office in Lafia.

As a former Governing Council Member of NSUK, Barrister Magaji acknowledged that his experience at the University has prepared him for his new role. He expressed gratitude for the skills and knowledge gained during his time at NSUK, stating that he is now committed to giving back to the institution. Barrister Magaji also reiterated the commitment of Governor Abdullahi. A Sule to support NSUK’s growth and development.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman in her remarks, said she and the Principal Officers were on a congratulatory visit to felicitate “one of our own” She also expressed optimism that he will perform creditably well, she further assured him that the University is solidly behind him.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega who was represented by Council Member Honorable Thomas Ogiri said they were in his office to congratulate him on his new appointment as the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State.

While describing the appointment as well deserved, Hon. Ogiri recalled Barrister Magaji’s deployment of his wealth of experience in the Governing Council of the University and the positive contributions he brought to issues which have helped in moving the University forward, on behalf of the council, senate, management and staff of the University wished him a successful and impactful tenure.

This pledge of support to the University from the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State is a positive indication of the University’s prospects.
