On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman (Fellow: UNESCO, ACLS, FIIP), welcomed a delegation from the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) at the University’s Council Chamber.

In her address, the Vice Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman expressed appreciation to the delegation and reiterated NSUK’s commitment to academic excellence. “This visit presents an opportunity for meaningful discussions on areas of mutual interest, including higher education policies, institutional collaborations, and strategies for advancing the quality of university education in Nigeria,” she stated.

Professor Sa’adatu noted that Nigeria’s education system is at a critical juncture, particularly as the country seeks to align with the Global Education Agenda. This agenda is shaped by global trends that redefine how education is delivered and consumed, while also presenting unique challenges for education policymakers in Nigeria.
Highlighting NSUK’s efforts to align with this agenda,she emphasized the importance of innovative approaches to education.

In response, the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Professor Andrew Haruna, commended Nasarawa State University for its commitment to quality education, countering the narrative of substandard academic standards in state universities. He congratulated Professor Liman on her innovative leadership and described NSUK as a model university.

Professor Haruna reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to further collaboration in areas such as capacity building, leadership development, dialogue, and digitalization.
The event was attended by principal officers and staff members of the University. A major highlight was the presentation of an award to the Vice-Chancellor by the CVCNU, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
