









In a landmark effort to elevate academic excellence and promote scholarship, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Fellow; UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFP, on Monday 12th May 2025 welcomed a delegation from the U.S. Embassy.

In his remarks while welcoming the guests provided a brief overview of NSUK’s history, academic vision, and its strides in educational development.
He expressed deep appreciation for the U.S. Embassy’s continuous support and reaffirmed the University’s readiness to engage in strategic collaborations with both national and international institutions to enhance its status as a hub of academic excellence in hosting the distinguished visitors a move which he stated will further reaffirm the University’s commitment to fostering robust international academic partnerships.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, Mrs. Whitney C. Fox, a representative of the U.S. Embassy, lauded the longstanding and productive relationship between the Embassy and NSUK. She highlighted that the primary goal of the visit was to introduce new opportunities for international scholarships and academic engagement tailored specifically for Nigerian students through the Fulbright Scholarship program.
Addressing postgraduate students directly, Mrs. Fox reiterated the Embassy’s commitment to ensuring they gain optimal access to educational and professional development programs. She also extended an invitation for NSUK’s participation in upcoming collaborative events scheduled for September in Abuja, which aim to educate both students and faculty on leveraging U.S.-sponsored academic opportunities.
The highlight of the visit was a Fulbright Application Workshop and a Research Writing Workshop, where U.S. Fulbright Scholar Raphael Davies will share his reserach findings and an Education USA Graduate Workshop and presentation on E-Library USA was also be held in the Window on America Corner of the Library.
Joining the DVC Acad to recieve the US Embassy delegation were the DVC Administration Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, the University Librarian Dr. Aliyu Abdulkadir, the representative of the Registrar, Mrs. Stella Asaniyan, the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Ari Maikano, the Special Adviser to the VC, Mall. Muhammad D Nasiru, the Ag. Dean of Law, Dr. Halima Doma Kutigi, the Director of Linkages and International Cooperation, Dr. K’tso Nghargbu, the Deputy Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Habiba Musa, the Ag. Director, Bayo Ojo Institute for Mediation and Abitration Studies, Dr. Alex Epu, and the Director of Window on America, Dr. Wilson Oserada.
This visit marks another significant step in NSUK’s ongoing journey toward internationalization and academic distinction.
