




In a continued effort to support university management and add value to the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community, the NSUK Health Cooperative Society made a significant donation on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The cooperative presented executive chairs to the University Medical Center and donated a photocopier and printer to the NSUK Demonstration Secondary School.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Halima Aliyu Doma-Kutigi, commended the cooperative society for its strong sense of corporate social responsibility. She noted that the donation would greatly enhance service delivery and operational standards at both the clinic and the school. Dr. Kutigi also encouraged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the facilities provided.
Speaking at the event, the President of the NSUK Health Cooperative Society, Mr. Thomas Akwaden, reaffirmed the cooperative’s unwavering commitment to supporting both its members and the broader university community. He explained that the cooperative not only distributes profits and dividends annually but also offers a wide range of benefits to members, including financial advisory services, access to various loan facilities, retirement planning seminars, and the annual presentation of the Cooperative Financial Report (C.F.R.).
In a show of appreciation, the Director, University Health Services, Dr. Ibrahim Madaki, thanked the university management for its continuous support and lauded the cooperative for its impactful contributions. He emphasized the positive difference the society has made in the lives of its members and within the university, offering prayers for divine guidance and the continued success of the cooperative.
The event concluded with the presentation of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) souvenir to the Vice-Chancellor, a formal handover of the donated equipment to the beneficiaries, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
