The Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi Sule, has challenged the Alumni members of Nasarawa State University Keffi to mobilize resources that will support the government’s efforts in improving the standard of education in the institution and the state.

This challenge was made during the inauguration of the new national officials of the Association at Ta’al Conference Hotel, Lafia, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The Governor, represented by the State Head of Civil Service, Barrister Abigail Waya, congratulated the new officials and urged them to rally their members to mobilize resources for the development of their alma mater.
The Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Administration, Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, pledged the management’s commitment to collaborating with development-oriented organizations to take the university to greater heights.

In a keynote paper titled “Securing the Future: Trust Fund as Pillar for Alumni Legacy through Finance, Entrepreneurial Activities, and Leadership Continuity,” Dr. Vincent Paul, a senior lecturer at Nasarawa State University Keffi, emphasized the importance of a strong financial base in achieving set objectives.
He noted that while significant progress has been made, the new alumni leadership needs to work towards securing funds to support infrastructural development and provide scholarship awards to indigent students.
The National President of the Nasarawa State University Alumni Association, Barrister Nuhu John Egya, thanked members for the confidence reposed in them and promised to work as a team to bring development to their alma mater.

The newly inaugurated officials include Barrister Nuhu John Egya (President), Comrade Saleh Malam Zaman (Vice President), Comrade Shua’ibu Mohammed Oshoke (Secretary General), Comrade Rabiu Tijjani Omame – Financial Secretary and Mrs Joy Firi Usaini – Treasurer.

Others are God’spower Ede – Public Relations Officer, Barrister Eyyazo Daniel – Legal Adviser, Abel Maruku – Welfare Secretary, Shua’ibu Bashir – Assistant Secretary General and Hauwa Muhammad – Auditor.
The event featured the launch of a trust fund for legacy projects, spearheaded by the Chairman of the occasion, Prince Suleiman Ahmed Eko while Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada donated a brand new Toyota Cienna Bus to the Association.
