










The Faculty of Administration on Monday, 12th May 2025, emerged as champions of the 19th edition of the Annual Vice-Chancellor’s Football Cup Competition, held at the University’s Sports Complex.
In a thrilling final match, the Faculty of Administration faced off against the Faculty of Social Sciences in a dramatic showdown that was ultimately decided after three intense rounds of penalty shootouts.
The tournament, which kicked off on Monday, 5th May 2025, brought together teams from various faculties in a spirited display of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Faculty of Arts clinched third place, following the dominant performance of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Several individual and team awards were presented at the end of the competition. The Faculty of Engineering was recognized as the Most Disciplined Team of the tournament. From the Faculty of Administration, Wisdom Onya claimed the Highest Goal Scorer medal, while Hayatudeen Elayo was awarded Best Goalkeeper. Markus Caleb of the Faculty of Social Sciences was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
Prizes and accolades were presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Liman, who was ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo. The event was graced by Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, Faculty Sports Directors, departmental lecturers, the Chief Security Officer, and other members of the university community.
