The Department of Islam and Development Studies on Monday 28th October 2024 hosted the 7th Annual International Conference of Islamic and Development Studies AICODES 2024.
The Conference Themed: “Islam, Environmental Pollution and Climate Change For Sustainable Development” which took place at the SB Mohammed Auditorium of the School of Postgraduate Studies was declared open by former Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and current Vice-Chancellor ANAN University, Kwall, Professor Musa Inuwa Fodio, who served as Chairman of the occasion.
Also present at the event was the former Head of Department, Islamic Studies and current Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman FELLOW: UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFPN who served as the Chief Host of the occasion.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Ahmad Bello Dogara of the Department of Accounting, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, while the Head of Department of Islamic Law, Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State Professor Abdulwahab Muhammad Jami’u Elesin was the Guest Speaker (Arabic).
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Adam Ayuba Binchi, Professor O.A. Omotosho, of the Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, the former Director-General of the National Climate Change Council, Dr. Salisu Dahiru, and the Director Centre for Security Studies, Head of Department Islamic Studies, and Chief Imam of FULafia Central Masjid, Professor Muhammad Tanko Aliyu.
