NSUK alumnus and Industrial & Organizational Psychology scholar, John Simon, has once again demonstrated the power of youth leadership and alumni impact as he led his organization, The Big Talk with John Simon, to the NSUK Demonstration Secondary School for its “School No Be Scam” outreach on Friday, 17th October 2025.

The highly engaging session brought together students and staff in an atmosphere of motivation, interaction, and renewed hope in the value of education.
The outreach challenged students to look beyond certificates and grades, emphasizing self-discovery, purpose, discipline, and the role of education in personal and national development. Through inspiring stories, practical insights, and interactive activities, the team encouraged the students to reclaim their belief in schooling as a tool for empowerment—not a scam. According to John Simon, the project was born out of a sincere desire to counter the growing negative narrative among young people who feel disconnected from the current educational system.

The event recorded overwhelming positive feedback, with teachers and students describing it as eye-opening, energizing, and transformative. Many students testified that the session helped them rediscover motivation and see education from a refreshing new lens. The success of the outreach was made possible through the support of friends and partners of The Big Talk with John Simon, a youth-driven platform founded in 2019.

Over the years, the organization has collaborated with NSUK on numerous youth development initiatives, including the SUG Election Debates and other leadership-focused programs between 2021 and 2024.
In his closing remarks, John Simon expressed profound appreciation to the University Management and the leadership of the Demonstration School for their support and partnership. He reaffirmed his commitment to deepening the collaboration between The Big Talk and NSUK in promoting education, leadership, and youth empowerment.

The outreach stands as yet another testament to NSUK’s legacy of nurturing graduates who lead with purpose, influence their communities, and give back with passion.
