The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, hosted a delegation from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Keffi Area Command on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The courtesy visit, held at the University Council Chambers, aimed to strengthen ties and allow the NDLEA leadership to familiarize themselves with the university community.

The meeting was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, other Principal Officers, and university staff.
Professor Liman, a Fellow of UNESCO, ACLS, and FIIP, reiterated NSUK’s zero-tolerance policy towards drug abuse. She expressed sincere appreciation for the NDLEA’s consistent support and commitment to curbing drug-related misconduct within the university. Professor Liman emphasized that this collaboration offers a valuable opportunity for both NSUK and the NDLEA Keffi Area Command to develop shared strategies and foster synergy in addressing substance abuse, ultimately promoting a drug-free academic community.

Earlier in his remarks,the NDLEA Area Commander, Mr. Michael Bitrus Emmanuel highlighted that the visit’s primary purpose was to establish a stronger agency presence within the university and to seek partnership and cooperation from NSUK in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.

He also extended an invitation to the Vice-Chancellor and her team to attend the upcoming United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Enlightenment Campaign, scheduled for June 26, 2025.

A significant moment of the event was the unveiling of NSUK-NDLEA branded T-shirts, symbolizing the strong partnership and joint commitment to community sensitization. The visit concluded with commemorative group photographs.
