The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has described Professor Shuaibu Ahmed Ibrahim as one of the best in the University who has paid his dues.
The Vice-Chancellor gave the remark while speaking at the Colloquium and Valedictory lecture organized by the Department of Political Science in conjunction with the Faculty of Social Science in honour of Professor Shuaibu Ahmed Ibrahim who exited the services of the University on Tuesday 31 October 2023.
 
Professor Suleiman who expressed profound appreciation to Professor Shuaibu for the services he has rendered to the University noted that over the years he has mentored a generation of great political scientists who are contributing enormously to national development and his best is well-recognised and appreciated.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Yahaya Adadu explained that the event was organized by the Department of Political Science in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Science of which Professor Shuaibu was at various times the Head of the Department and Dean of Faculty to immortalize and celebrate the erudite professor of political science who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Department having been a foundation member of the University.
 
The celebrant Professor Shuaibu Ahmed Ibrahim in his remarks thanked Almighty Allah for sparing his life after a lot of challenges and for the privilege to witness the auspicious occasion, he also used the opportunity to thank close and extended family members of his and professional colleagues from the University of Jos and well-wishers who came from far and near who celebrate with him.
The valedictory lecture featured a paper presentation from Professor Warissu Alli of the Department of Political Science University of Jos with the topic “African Union and Good Governance in Africa: Resurgence of Coups in the Region”.
Also Professor Istifanus Zabadi of the Department of Political Science at Bingham University, Karu, delivered a paper with the topic “The State and Labour Relationships in Nigeria”
The well-attended event was an opportunity for a reunion of sorts as the celebrant reunited and reconnected with friends family and associates.
