The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed today played host to a delegation of the Soil For Africa Project.
The delegation led by Jereon Temsing was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics Professor Haruna Kuje Ayuba in the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Monday 13th February 2023.
Mr. Temsing in his remark said Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is the coordinating institution for the Soil for Africa Project which intends to monitor the level and quality of over twenty thousand samples of soil points in Nigeria.
In his welcome remark, Professor Ayuba stated that the University management is excited to be associated with the Soil for Africa Project and will render the Faculty of Agriculture all the support it needs to make the program successful.
The project which is an initiative of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA intends to sample out soil samples across twenty thousand points and build a data and information hub for the samples.
