Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has tasked the clergy on character molding of students in the University.
The Vice-Chancellor gave the charge when he was speaking to the new leadership of the Chapel of Salvation who paid him a courtesy call in his office on Friday 3rd March 2023.
Professor Suleiman said the role of the clergy in molding the character of students cannot be overemphasized due to the special position that they hold in the spiritual lives of people hence their ability to shape the lives and character of the students positively, being the reason why the University certificates are issued to students who have excelled in character and learning, which is also complimentary to the fight against unethical conducts.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and the new Chairman of the Chapel of Salvation Council .Professor Gideon Amuga said they were on the visit to introduce the new leadership of the Chapel to the University management and to inform them that as part of the activities lined up for the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Chapel of Salvation, it has concluded plans for the foundation laying ceremony for a Chapel at the Faculty of Agriculture, Lafia Campus.
Professor Amuga also used the occasion to reiterate the support of the Chaplaincy towards the unity and cooperation of the University community and support to the Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed-led administration.
Professor Amuga was accompanied on the visit by the new Vice-Chairman of the Chapel of Salvation, Dr. Santas Tsegyu, former Council member of the Chapel, Professor Yakubu Ngwai, and Mr. Thomas Akwaden, amongst others.
Activities for the 10th-anniversary celebration will commence on Friday, 24th March 2023 to climax on Sunday, 26th March 2023.
