Contractor Officially Hands Over Senate Building and Engineering Workshops to University Management.
The Contractor handling the construction of the new Senate Building in the University, Messer’s MNM Construction and Engineering Services Ltd has officially handed over the magnificent edifice to the management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
The Handing over ceremony which is coming on the heels of the official commissioning of the projects by the Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari on the 21st of November 2022 signals the readiness of the building for administrative business.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed who received the keys to the Senate building on behalf of the management thanked Messers MNM Construction for keeping to specified timelines and quality works which will stand the test of time.
According to Professor Suleiman, “several Vice-Chancellors who have seen the edifice and are already desirous to replicate it in their Universities. Without hesitation, I have started recommending MNM to them, well done, and kudos to MNM because your works are advertising themselves”.
The Senate building which is fully funded by the Year 2020 TETFund Special High Impact Project(SHIP) Intervention, and constructed at the cost of 1,439,284,520.16 has the following features; 21 self-contained offices with toilets, 100 single offices, 42 shared public toilets, and 6 kitchenettes.
Other features include 1 Senate Chamber with and a capacity for 250 people, 1 council chamber with a seating capacity of about 40 members, 3 Conference rooms, and 1 Committee room.
The construction of the Senate building commenced in May 2021 and was completed in November 2022.
Similarly, the contractor handling the construction and furnishing of the Central Engineering Workshop building for the Faculty of Engineering at Gudi Campus Messers Abshu General Merchandise Ltd has also handed over the project to the university Management.
The project in Gudi has 5 capacity training halls with equipment, 4 self-contained offices, 12 single offices, 17 store rooms ,and 18 toilets.
The Construction and furnishing of the Central Engineering workshop was made possible through the year 2020 TetFund Special High Impact Project at the cost of 420,048,324.54.
