The pedestrian bridge under construction at the main gate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is to be completed in April 2023.
A Director in the Road Safety Development Team of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Engineer Yakubu Madaki stated this when he led a delegation comprising the consultants and some members of the China Harbor Engineering Company CHEC, the contractors handling the dualization of the Keffi-Akwanga Road to the University on Wednesday 1st March 2023.
Engineer Madaki explained that they were at the University’s main entrance to find a suitable location for the construction of the pedestrian bridge which will be close to the main gate of the University to allow students unhindered access to the University across the highway.
In his remark, Vice-Chancellor Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed commended the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing for accepting the University’s request to construct a pedestrian bridge at the main entrance of the University, which he noted will significantly reduce the rate of road accidents occasioned by the dualization of the Keffi-Akwanga road.
Professor Suleiman said the University management in its bid to reduce the frequent rate of accidents on the highway has constructed speed breakers along the student corridor to minimize over speeding by motorists who ply the road daily.
