The best-graduating students for the 2021 academic session of the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies have been rewarded with Capital cash start ups to enable them to start business skills they have learned during their course of study in the Department.
Presenting the awards in his office to the students on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed commended the initiative of the Head of Department and encouraged her to do more as it will serve as a motivating factor to other students coming up to put in more hard work in both academics and skills acquisition.
In her remarks, the Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, Dr. Mrs. Ruth Andah stated that the award was instituted as yearly event to encourage graduating students of the department who have excelled in their academic work, to put to practice what they have learned to become self-reliant and employers of labor. She used the opportunity to thank the Vice-Chancellor for redeeming an earlier pledge he made during the Departmental exhibition day that took place last month.
Among the lucky winners is Odigbi Peace Makuochi who clinched the first prize worth 100,000 Naira, Usman Edache Philip who came in second position with 70,000 Naira, and Aremo Gloria the third place winner with 50,000 Naira while the best-graduating student from the part-time section went home with 20,000 Naira.
