Idris Isah SULE is currently the Acting Director of the Directorate of ICT, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). He holds a PhD and Master’s degrees in Electronics and Communications and another Master’s degree in Information Technology. He has previously served as Deputy Director (2021-2022) and Head of services and Maintenance (2009-2021) at the NSUK ICT Centre. He has completed several ICT trainings and certifications and has a number of cutting-edge skills and competencies.

As Acting Director of ICT, Dr. Idris has championed unprecedented innovations in the deployment of ICT for the day-to-day activities of the university. He has helped the university achieve, among others, enhanced internet access, expanded ICT infrastructure, digitization of academic processes, deployment of E-Learning systems, and development of ICT capacity of staff and students. Idris is a seasoned IT expert and consultant, a university administrator and a mentor who has inspired many. He is 41 and is married with children.

pREAMBLE

The NSUK vision, mission, and objectives show irrevocable commitment to attaining excellence in all the spheres of the University’s activities. Also, as a university founded in the 21st century, NSUK has designed its academic programmes to be ICT-driven. Therefore, the University Management is determined to take advantage of the current ICT revolution and has also decided to adopt a planned approach to attain her mandate. This planned approach forms the 2019 – 2024 work plan of the University.

Since ICT is expected to play a strategic role in implementing the strategic work plan, the University needs to prepare its ICT Strategic Plan as a component of the overall NSUK 5-Year Action Plan. Accordingly, the ICT Centre has prepared the following 2-year Action Plan for 2022 to 2024

Informational transformation for productive capacity;

Access to the abundant reservoir of knowledge available on national and global networks, including the Internet; and

Large scale digitization of activities to facilitate teaching, research activities, learning, skill acquisition, services, empowerment through knowledge and community service.

VISSION

To be a well equipped ICT Centre of international standard known for innovative and efficient ICT-based service delivery; knowledge production; learning; and transformation and empowerment of NSUK community.

OUR GOALS

To have installed at the ICT Centre state-of-the-art ICT infrastructures and facilities;

To become a Centre of innovation and best practices in the application of ICT (in Learning, Teaching, Research and Services);

To become an Internationally recognised training Centre using State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) facilities and procedures; and

Significantly enhance our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) capability to support and strengthen the ICT activities of the University
