
NSUK Emerges Nigeria’s Best in Capital Market Education, VC Bags CMAN ‘Amazon’ Award


Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has added another feather to its cap, emerging as the “Most Outstanding University in Nigeria in Capital Market Education” at the 2026 Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (CMAN) Conference and Award Ceremony, while its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, received the prestigious “Capital Market Academics Amazon” Award for exemplary leadership.
The double honour reaffirms NSUK’s status as a national and continental pacesetter in specialised capital market education and underscores the University’s growing influence in advancing financial education, research, and professional capacity development.
Announcing the awards, the President of the Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (CMAN), Professor Uche Uwaleke, said the University’s recognition was in acknowledgement of its pioneering contributions to capital market education in Nigeria.
According to him, NSUK distinguished itself as the first university in Nigeria to establish a full-fledged Department of Securities and Investment Management and the first university in Africa to establish an Institute of Capital Market Studies. The Institute currently runs National Universities Commission (NUC)-approved postgraduate programmes in Capital Market Studies and related disciplines, making the University a reference point for specialised capital market education across the continent.
The CMAN Awards Committee also honoured the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, with the title of “Capital Market Academics Amazon” in recognition of her visionary leadership and remarkable contributions to strengthening teaching, research, innovation, and capacity development in capital market studies. The award further acknowledges her commitment to expanding specialised academic programmes that continue to position NSUK as a leader in the field.
The awards were received on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the University by former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma, during the national award ceremony held on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 at the Multimedia Centre, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Headquarters, Central Business District, Abuja. He later presented the awards to Professor Liman during a brief ceremony at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
The latest recognition adds to the growing list of national honours earned by Nasarawa State University, Keffi, further affirming its commitment to academic innovation, institutional excellence, and the production of globally competitive graduates equipped to drive the growth and development of Nigeria’s capital market and financial sector.
