In a demonstration of her unwavering commitment to expanding strategic partnerships and positioning Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), as a hub of academic excellence and innovation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Monday, July 6, 2026, presided over the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University and LIYU College of Health Sciences and Technology, Keffi.

The agreement, signed at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, is expected to strengthen collaboration in health sciences education, research, quality assurance, staff development, accreditation, and institutional capacity building, while opening new opportunities for academic exchange and professional advancement.

Receiving the delegation from LIYU College, Professor Liman described the partnership as a strategic investment in the future of healthcare education and human capital development. She reaffirmed NSUK’s resolve to continue forging meaningful alliances that enhance teaching, research, innovation, and community service.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding would facilitate the sharing of laboratories, specialized equipment, and other academic facilities, encourage staff exchange programmes and collaborative research, and provide qualified graduates of LIYU College with expanded opportunities to further their education at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Professor Liman further stressed that universities and other tertiary institutions must work together to address emerging educational and healthcare challenges through collaboration rather than competition. She called for sustained synergy between the two institutions in advancing the socio-economic development of Keffi, Nasarawa State, and Nigeria, noting that partnerships remain critical to building globally competitive institutions.

The leader of the LIYU College delegation, Dr. Isma’il Suleiman, said the visit was principally to formalize the Memorandum of Understanding between both institutions. He paid glowing tribute to Professor Liman for her exceptional leadership, unwavering support, and invaluable contributions to the growth of LIYU College and the development of the Keffi community.

According to Dr. Suleiman, the partnership will strengthen cooperation in quality health sciences education, accreditation, quality assurance, and staff welfare, while creating a solid framework for long-term academic collaboration. He commended the Vice-Chancellor’s visionary leadership and dedication to educational excellence, describing her as a dependable partner in institutional growth.

The ceremony culminated in the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by representatives of both institutions, symbolizing a shared commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Professor Liman thereafter presented souvenirs to the visiting delegation as a mark of appreciation, while both institutions pledged to translate the agreement into impactful programmes that will benefit students, staff, and society.

The latest partnership further underscores Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman’s growing reputation for driving transformative collaborations that continue to elevate the profile of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, while reinforcing the University’s vision of becoming a globally competitive institution distinguished by excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.
