Breaking a Five-Year Drought: JCIN NSUK Returns to National Glory with Top Award at 2026 Collegiate Conference

The Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) chapter of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has ended a five-year wait for national recognition, emerging as one of the standout winners at the 2026 JCI Nigeria Collegiate Conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The NSUK delegation, led by Chapter President, JCIN Councillor Zubair Sunusi, clinched the prestigious Best Inter-Organization Collaboration Project Award for its flagship humanitarian initiative, “Feed the Needy.”
The project was recognised for its outstanding execution, strategic partnerships, and measurable community impact, placing JCIN NSUK ahead of collegiate chapters from across the country in the highly competitive collaboration category.
The victory marks the chapter’s first national award since its last triumph at the JCI Nigeria Collegiate Conference in 2021, bringing an end to a five-year drought and signalling a remarkable return to the national spotlight.
Speaking after receiving the award, Chapter President Zubair Sunusi described the achievement as a product of resilience, teamwork, and an unshakable commitment to service.
“This achievement is particularly special because the last time JCIN NSUK won an award at the JCI Nigeria Collegiate Conference was in 2021. After five years, we have proudly returned to the national stage, proving that dedication, teamwork, and impactful service always produce outstanding results,” he said.
Sunusi described the award as a defining moment for the current executive council and the entire chapter, noting that it reflects the collective dedication of members to creating sustainable impact in their communities.
He dedicated the national honour to all members of JCIN NSUK and expressed appreciation to the university’s mentors, alumni, strategic partners, and supporters whose financial and moral contributions were instrumental to the success of the “Feed the Needy” project.
Reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to community development, the chapter president pledged that JCIN NSUK would continue to implement impactful humanitarian initiatives, nurture young leaders, and sustain the culture of excellence that has once again placed Nasarawa State University, Keffi, on the national stage.
The award adds another feather to NSUK’s growing profile of student achievements and underscores the university’s commitment to producing socially responsible leaders dedicated to positive change.
