The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Thursday 4th June 2026, paid a courtesy and appreciation visit to the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

The visit formed part of efforts to consolidate on the successes recorded during the University’s recently concluded 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony and Silver Jubilee (25th Anniversary) celebrations.

Speaking during the visit, Professor Liman expressed profound appreciation to the Minister for her support to the University, particularly for personally attending the convocation ceremony and endowing an e-library complex for the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the e-library project would significantly enhance teaching, learning, research, and academic development at the University. She also acknowledged the Minister’s numerous interventions and contributions to the growth and development of NSUK over the years.

Professor Liman further sought strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Women Affairs and the University, proposing the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving NSUK Consult and the University’s Centre for Gender Studies. According to her, the partnership would enable the University to provide consultancy services, capacity-building programmes, and specialized short courses for the Ministry, leveraging the institution’s wealth of expertise and human resources.

Responding, the Honourable Minister congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on the successful conduct of the University’s convocation ceremony and commended her outstanding leadership and achievements.

Hajia Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim expressed pride in being associated with the e-library project, reaffirming her commitment to its successful execution. She assured the University that work on the project would commence within the shortest possible time.

The Minister also disclosed that the Ministry is currently undertaking a comprehensive policy review process and has included NSUK among the institutions participating in the review team. She further revealed plans to expand collaboration with the University’s Centre for Gender Studies, noting that the mandates of both the Ministry and the Centre are closely aligned in promoting gender equity, women empowerment, and social development.

The visit culminated in the presentation of souvenirs to the Honourable Minister by Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman and the Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, Dr. Comfort Adokwe-Obed, symbolizing the strong partnership and mutual commitment to advancing education, gender advocacy, and national development.
