In a milestone achievement that further cements her status as a titan of institutional leadership, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has been honored with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The investiture took place on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2026, at the Abba Kyari Banquet Hall, Government House, Kaduna, during the 2026 Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW).

Professor Liman was decorated alongside 15 other distinguished Nigerians who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and commitment to national development.

The elite list of fellow conferees included Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, Deputy Speaker of the 10th Federal House of Representatives; Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar/CEO of JAMB; Bello Muhammad Goronyo Esq, Honourable Minister of State for Works; HRM Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, the Chun Mada and President, Akwanga Local Government Traditional Council; Professor Elias Bogoro, former Executive Secretary of TETFund; Professor Ayo Omotayo, Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS); and Hajia Lantana Ahmed, renowned screen legend and former Head of Department of Theatre Arts and Cultural Studies, NSUK.

The conferment ceremony formed one of the major highlights of the Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW) “Croc City 2026,” which attracted over 2,500 public relations practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Nigeria and around the world.

This year’s theme, “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate; The Imperatives of Public Relations,” emphasized the strategic role of communication in addressing Nigeria’s pressing socioeconomic challenges, particularly in the area of food security and public trust.

The event also witnessed the induction of 107 new Associate Members into the Institute, further strengthening NIPR’s position as one of Africa’s foremost professional public relations bodies.

The conferment of the Honorary Fellowship (FNIPR – Hon.) on Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman stands as a strong attestation to her visionary “Open Door” leadership philosophy and her remarkable success in repositioning NSUK as a policy-driven, people-centered citadel of learning and innovation.

Professor Liman adds this latest recognition to an already distinguished profile of honors, including her Fellowships with UNESCO, ACLS (AHP), FIIFPN, CBER and Erasmus+.

Her recognition by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations sends a strong message that the academic reforms, leadership excellence, and administrative innovations taking place at NSUK are receiving commendation at the highest levels of professional practice in Nigeria.

Indeed, the Fellowship is not merely a personal honor—it is a national endorsement of purposeful leadership and a celebration of the rising institutional influence of Nasarawa State University, Keffi. It may be recalled that the Institute had earlier in 2024 honored with NSUK with the Corporate Award of Excellence in Professional Compliace.
