
Contestants Demonstrate Sportsmanship as NSUK Registry Welfare Elects New Executive Committee





Contestants in the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Registry Welfare election displayed remarkable maturity, sportsmanship, and commitment to the democratic process as members elected a new Executive Committee to steer the affairs of the association.
The election, held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the University’s New Senate Chamber, attracted a large turnout of Registry staff, who actively participated in choosing leaders to advance the welfare and development of members.
Addressing the contestants, electorate, and members of the Electoral Committee before voting commenced, the Registrar of NSUK, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, urged everyone to uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and credibility throughout the exercise. He commended all contestants for offering themselves for service and wished each of them success in the election.
The immediate past Chairman of the Registry Welfare, Alh. Umar Shehu, described the association as a vital platform established to provide financial assistance and support to members during periods of need. He encouraged both contestants and members to remain united after the election and continue working collectively for the growth of the welfare scheme.
The keenly contested election was conducted peacefully, with contestants engaging one another in a spirit of healthy competition while members exercised their franchise in an orderly and transparent atmosphere.
At the end of the exercise, the following contestants were elected to serve on the new Executive Committee:

Secretary: Mr. Wakaso Mohammed
Treasurer: Hajiya Hassana Musa
Financial Secretary: Mr. Makyo Onje Gye-Wado
Auditor: Hajara Aliyu
Investment Officer: Mr. Ibrahim Baba
Public Relations Officer (PRO): Mr. Ajipson Sunday
The election concluded on a successful note, with contestants congratulating the winners and reaffirming their commitment to supporting the newly elected leadership. The impressive participation of members and the peaceful conduct of the exercise underscored the Registry Welfare’s dedication to democracy, unity, and the collective advancement of its members.
