Our Mission
To contribute to sustainable development of Aquaculture and Fisheries industry in Nigeria with achievement of self-sufficiency in fisheries business and fish food security through the following
Students/trainees practical base fisheries programme
Acquisition of knowledge and technology to conduct problem-solving and dissemination of findings through seminar presentations, conferences and in journals publications
Visibility of the fisheries programmes value chain of the Department through community development and linkages within and outside Nigeria.

Our Objectives
The Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management has full accreditation status from National University Commission with core mandate in teaching, research in undergraduate and community development programmes
The Department has competent staff in most specialization areas in aquaculture and fisheries programmes.
There is a functional Feed Mill, indoor and outdoor ponds, smoking kilns and demonstration fish farm for proper entrepreneurial skills acquisition.
The allocated hectares of land of the department is seated on national water stream and the hatchery is with functional bore hole to run all freshwater fisheries programmes
Our products and services have high prospects of attracting potential students, Ministries, Parastatals, Researchers, Financial Institutions, Private subsector and international investors.
