The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed has tasked parents on the education of their wards.
He made the charge at the handing over of chairs, uniforms, and a bicycle to two outstanding pupils of a primary school in Angwan Jaba a rural community of Keffi on Friday.
Professor Mohammed who made the presentation on behalf of Mr. Azubuike Erunigha Charles, a Ph.D. Student of the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication Nasarawa State University, Keffi, tasked parents to enroll their wards into schools to enable them have a basic foundation in education which will support there future ambition in life.
Professor Mohammed also expressed gratitude to the community for the warm reception accorded Mr. Azubuike which enabled him to discover the students, pledging that the University will also support the community school and admit the students upon graduation from Secondary School.
In his remarks, Mr. Azubuike said the assistance which is in partnership with an NGO, Framework Advocacy and Development Initiative is aimed at discovering young talents and teaching them the skill of filmmaking.
Mr. Azubuike further stated that he discovered the students Umar and Shamsiya during his Ph. D research work in the community and found out that they were exceptionally gifted. This informed the decision of the NGO to support them in advancing their education.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Bursar of the University, Mr. Micheal Sabo Waki, the Executive Director ISDEVCOM Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, the Indormarion and Protocol Officer of the University, Mr. Abraham Habu Ekpo and Postgraduate students of ISDEVCOM.
