The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, has described the Faculty of Agriculture, Shabu- Campus as one the best faculties in the University.
He made the declaration when he received the executive committee and Board of Trustee members of the Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigeria (ADAN), who paid him a courtesy visit, recently.
He said the considerable impact the faculty is making is the reason for his support whenever the need arises, hence, management's decision to host the 64th edition of the annual conference of ADAN.
In his remark, the National President of ADAN, Prof M.I. Bamikole, said they were in his office to intimate him on the Agripreneurship Summit 2021 for Nigerian Youths and the 64th ADAN Annual Conference.
He thanked the Vice-Chancellor for deploying resources to host the conference, which he described as unprecedented.
He revealed that this is the 64th edition of the conference in the 65-year history of the association, which the Nasarawa State University proudly hosts, alongside Shabu Farms in collaboration with the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture IITA, Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending NIRSAL amongst other strategic partners.
The opening ceremony which took place at Assembly Hall of the University had paper presentations from former ADAN President and current Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia, Professor S.A. Rahman, and Dr. Charles Iyangbe of USAID Abuja, presentation and launching of the ADAN Journal, goodwill messages from the Emirs of Keffi and Nasarawa and presentation of awards to deserving individuals.
The programme is expected to climax on Tuesday 17th August 2021 with a summit at the Agripreneur Academy, Shabu Farms, Kokona.
