The Library has a VSAT through which we provide Internet Services to users. In addition, we have developed our own website where links to other free online resources are also provided.
The Library has also installed a wireless network, in addition to other databases on CD such as AGORA, Ebscohost, Nation Universities Commission Virtual Library Project Unit, All Nigerian Law Report, over 100 book titles and other publications on the IDRC (International development Research Centre) Database, Social Science Library (www.socialsciencelibrary.org) an online database with 1,300 full text Journal titles and 1,00 list of authors, bibliography and link to other sites. The Library has in stock a lot of e-books on CD-ROMS
The Library has also reached advanced stage in the process of automation. We have acquired the software (ADLIB) and a number of computers for networking which is just awaiting installation. We have also received ten (10) more computers from the IT centre and all have been installed in the media room (Internet café) in the main library.
Due to the availability of vast amount of information on the Internet, the management is requested to look at the possibility of providing Internet access to agric Library. Early this year, the vice – chancellor has approved and provided funds for the establishment of e-Law Library with online databases for law collections. This has been completed and put to use.
